Snickering Sells Sedans in New Dodge Dart Ad Campaign

Comedians sell cars in the latest wave of commercials from Dodge -- specifically the Dodge Dart -- but why? The Dart badge was resurrected in 2013 after nearly four decades in the graveyard, and the modern compact is utterly unrecognizable as a nameplate descendent of the '60s and '70s model -- and it's not being sold like them either.

Since this all-new model is the fresh face on the sedan market, Dodge is working to build a distinctive personality around the Dart. Light-hearted and quirky, the series of "Don't Touch My Dart" advertisements pin Dart-owning Craig Robinson against Dart-obsessive Jake Johnson, and hilarity ensues.

While you always leave the commercial chuckling, the bottom line is serious -- the Dart is a great car, perhaps even worthy of neurotic behavior!
